Our History
Red River County’s history is one of its greatest assets. GTC is just as proud of its heritage in the community. In 1957, Robert Gooding, a Clarksville native and graduate of Clarksville High School returned to Red River County after a career as a prosecutor in Harris County and purchased the abstract plant of Wren Title Company. Mr. Gooding built the business and operated on his own until 1968, when he was joined by his oldest son, R.E. (“Bobby”) Gooding. Bobby worked alongside Mr. Gooding until Mr. Gooding passed away in 1977. Since 1977, Bobby succeeded his father’s position as owner and manager and has operated the business since that time. In January 2021, Bobby was joined by his oldest son, Alan E. Gooding, making GTC one of several third generation businesses in Red River County.
